2019年8月27日下午，APDF第二个区域性国家分会在美国犹他州盐湖城宣布成立，APDF创始主席何昌成专程前往美国主持了本次成立仪式，塞尔维亚前总统、全球一带一路理事会理事Boris Tadic、纽约哈莱姆特社区市长、联合国亲善大使、喀麦隆王母德洛伊斯·布莱克利博士、中国海洋战略论坛一带一路基金会主席刘健、国际信息发展组织主席李世恩及各国友人共同见证并出席了成立仪式。

与此同时，IAI全球设计大奖、IAI全球珠宝创新奖（美国站）启动仪式也于当日同期举行。来自世界各国的与会重要嘉宾共同见证了这一仪式。

据悉，这是APDF自2013年在北京（中央美术学院）成立大中华区理事会之后的第二个国家级分会，未来APDF将在美国开展各种形式的设计活动，以此促进全球设计合作，推动中美乃至亚洲与北美之间的在设计领域的民间文化交流与发展。同时，它将为中国设计走向世界，甚至引领未来设计可持续发展都将扮演积极的推动作用。APDF美国分会成立仪式在联合国非政府组织大会期间举行，并在联合国官员和各界权威见证下宣布成立，规格之高前所未有，APDF美国分会的成立，无疑将进一步树立APDF在国际设计领域的权威性和影响力。
